The Andrews Labor Government is investing $21 million for planning and pre-construction work for the duplication of Thompson’s Rd.

Local residents in Casey and Cardinia currently face significant congestion and the upgrade will minimise delays and increase traffic flow, improve road safety while improving transport links for the growing residential communities and local businesses.

The funding will allow for detailed planning which will include design, environmental studies, traffic modelling, identifying underground services and property surveys.

The Thompson’s Road upgrade will see the duplication of the remaining seven kilometres of Thompson’s Road between Dandenong-Frankston Road and the South Gippsland Highway and between Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road and Berwick-Cranbourne Road.

In the coming months, local residents will have the opportunity to comment on proposed concept designs and attend consultation and information sessions.
