CAMPS AND EXCURSIONS FUND AT RISK FROM LIBERAL CUTS
The Andrews Labor Government’s School Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund that is doing so much to support students is at risk from the Liberal cost audit.
The Liberal Party have proposed a ‘Commission of Audit’ that will once again see funding ripped out of Cranbourne’s schools, TAFEs and educational support services.
A recent media report states:
“If Matthew Guy wins the election and becomes premier next year, the opposition has promised to undertake a cost audit and a review within the first 100 days of forming government.” Sunday Herald Sun, 15 October 2017
The Liberal Party just can’t help themselves, it’s part of their DNA – when in power they cut the services that hard working families across Cranbourne depend upon.
The Liberal Party have form on this.
As part of their cruel $1 billion cut to education, the Liberals axed the Educational Maintenance Allowance that was supporting so many hard working families with the basic costs of schooling and accessing school camps and excursions.
Across Cranbourne, 3,810 would have lost out in support thanks to the cruel Liberal cuts.
It was only the election of the Labor Government that ensured kids across Cranbourne got the support they needed with the dedicated School Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund, alongside the Breakfast Club program that is supporting around 25,000 kids.
Now it seems the Liberals and Matthew Guy want to do it all over again.
Matthew Guy and Liberals must rule out attacking the School Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund and Breakfast Club program from their planned cost audit that will do so much damage to families across Cranbourne and the services they rely upon.
